Jharsuguda, Odisha: Flex banners highlighting the role of local MLA Shri Tankadhar Tripathy in the establishment of JMFC Courts at Laikera and Kolabira have triggered discussions across Jharsuguda district.
Reacting to the issue, several people have recalled that the Hon’ble High Court of Orissa had initiated steps as early as 2020 for the establishment of new Civil Judge (Junior Division)-cum-JMFC Courts across the State. Laikera and subsequently Kolabira were also included in this initiative in consultation with the then BJD Government. The process, therefore, had commenced well before the tenure of the present MLA.
The discussion has also brought appreciation for the role played by the Hon’ble High Court of Orissa and the concerned administrative authorities in initiating and taking forward the process. The establishment of these courts is expected to bring justice closer to the people by making access to the judicial system easier and more convenient for residents of these areas. People have expressed their sincere gratitude to the High Court and the concerned authorities for their efforts and contributions, recognising that this achievement is the result of institutional and administrative efforts over time, rather than the initiative of any one political tenure.
Meanwhile, the long-pending demand for a permanent Bench of the Hon’ble High Court of Orissa in the region has once again come into focus. People of Jharsuguda are also expecting local MLA Shri Tankadhar Tripathy to take up the demand with the State Government and raise the matter at the appropriate level, including in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. They hope that the issue will receive due attention and that concrete steps will be taken towards fulfilling this long-standing demand.
